Key Programs
& Projects

UNA Tanzania is dedicated to fostering youth inclusion in decision-making processes across local, national, and international levels.

African UN Youth Delegate Program (AUNYD)

AUNYD amplifies African youth voices by creating pathways for their engagement in high-level decision-making. It operates across six countries, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, and Ethiopia, where it engages and trains over 240 UN Youth Fellows and supports 24 UN Youth Delegates annually.

Mazingira Yetu Kesho Yetu (Our Environment, Our Future)

This five-year initiative, running from 2022 to 2026, aims to raise climate awareness and mobilize Tanzania’s youth—who make up over 70% of the population—to take an active role in addressing climate challenges. Through youth-led initiatives like climate dialogues, hackathons, boot camps, and essay competitions, the program addresses climate knowledge gaps among young people.

Mpwapwa Resilience Project

This two-year initiative in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma, benefits over 3,000 residents by addressing climate challenges like rainfall variability, deforestation, and drought. The project employs a comprehensive 7-pillar model, which includes water harvesting, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable livelihoods, to increase food security and resilience.
